About

I am a longtime computer geek that started working in Information Technology 12 years ago. I honed my troubleshooting skills doing Windows desktop support for the Florida Department of Transportation and University of Florida. I enjoyed coming to my users' rescue, being their IT knight in shining armor, as well as figuring out their problems--it's like a puzzle to me. However, I yearned for more of a challenge. In my spare time I taught myself enough about Linux to move on to server administration four years ago while working for a small web host and domain registrar. I now actively support a range of clients and applications. My specialties are troubleshooting difficult problems, cutting costs with virtualization, server migrations, and LAMP tuning.

I describe myself as a geek because toying with computer and internet technology has always been a hobby. However, I do not believe this inhibits my ability to interact with others. In fact the human/social-side of life is just as interesting to me. So much so that in college I opted to study social sciences. I received a much broader and well-rounded perspective as a result. Seeing the bigger picture while remaining grounded helps me immensely in finding relevant solutions that work in the real world.

I am currently taking new clients. Please contact me for a free server audit and quote.
